Présentation de l’artiste et de sa démarche : Actuellement installé en Normandie, Morgan sculpte depuis une vingtaine d’années. Il découvre le travail de la matière et du fer dans son atelier en Espagne, où il a travaillé de nombreuses années. Il se forme en Italie au travers d’un master de sculpture en métal, et voyage également en Afrique où il rencontre des forgerons maliens et burkinabés. Après son retour en France, son travail se déploie surtout à travers la sculpture monumentale. En sculptant dans le fer, il centre son travail sur la mémoire et le temps, sur la force du symbole, autour de la recherche organique et vers la spiritualité. Description : THE LAST WOOD BIRTHPLACE (sequoia wood and steel)Let us go for a new time crusade with this budding wood, for which we must all stand up to protect life and diversity Presentation of the artist and his/her approach : Morgan settled in Normandy and has been sculpting for about 20 years. He learned how to work matter and iron in his studio in Spain, where he worked a long time. He took a master’s degree in metal carving in Italy, then went to Africa (Mali and Burkina Faso), where he was introduced to blacksmiths from these countries. Back to France, he developed most of his art through monumental carving, in particular iron cutting, to focus on memory and time, on the strength of symbols, seeking organic matter and spirituality.
