Comme un appel à la nécessité de préserver notre milieu naturel, ce symbole a émergé à l’esprit du sculpteur-peintre après une traversée transatlantique le sensibilisant aux menaces environnementales. De son œuvre, il est possible de distinguer la silhouette humaine en position verticale et la silhouette marine en position horizontale. Présentation de l’artiste et de sa démarche : L’approche artistique d’Arnaud Kasper, né à Paris en 1962, débute avec la peinture qu’il pratique au sein d’un atelier orchestré par Arno Stern. Par la suite, Arnaud Kasper se forme à l’École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Appliqués et Métiers d’Art, puis à la taille directe sur pierre. Sensible aux problématiques liées à l’environnement, l’artiste réalise notamment des œuvres animalières. Le sculpteur est aussi inspiré par la féminité, à laquelle il rend hommage à travers son œuvre. Description : A FISHMAN (Châteaupanne limestone) With this sculpture, Arnaud Kasper takes up again the concept of “the fishman”, one of his key figures. Just like a call for the need to protect our natural environment, the artist imagined this symbol after a transatlantic crossing that helped him become aware of environmental threats. If you watch carefully, you can make out the human figure standing vertically, and the sea figure lying horizontally Presentation of the artist and his/her approach : Arnaud Kasper, born in 1962, came to art through painting first, which he practised in Arno Stern’s Studio. He studied at the National School of Applied Arts and Art Crafts, then learned direct stone cutting. His wildlife works show how much he feels concerned about environmental issues; he also pays homage to feminity, another source of inspiration.
